Welcome to Our Site
                                     Welcome to Our Site.
My name is Kelli Koester and my family and I are a SMALL miniature dachshund breeding home, specializing in breeding and selling breeding and pet quality Long and Short Hair Miniature Dachshund dogs.

Late in 2006 we decided to purchase our first miniature dachshund and a month later we had our second..well now we have five. adults.  I hope to eventually become state licensed.

My husband and I (with help from a few family members )decided to turn our horse barn in to a kennel in the summer of 2007.  We only used a small portion of the barn for the kennel and now have decided to add on again this year. We are planning on adding a nursery/whelping room as we found out after our first litter that our kennel is just not big enough place for this. The pups do live in luxury.  The kennel has heat and air and is cleaned twice daily.  They do believe their lifes are better than ours :).... Well as long as they think so!    We really are just learning the doxie "world" but we were very excited to have our first litter.   Our first litter came on April 10, 2008 and we welcomed two new members to the family.

CHECK BACK IN THE SPRING...
All of our litters have the opportunity to be AKC registered.

We plan to raise mainly long and short hair doxies in the black/cream, black/tan, full cream, chocolate/cream, chocolate/tan with a few dapples thrown in.  At this time we do not plan to raise piebalds or wires.

With being a small breeder we feel that we have the benefit of breeding not only on quality lines of pups but as well breed for temperment, health and conformation.

Puppies will never leave our care before 8 weeks of age. We will never release a puppy to a new home if we feel the puppy is not ready to leave our care.  All of our puppies will be up to date on their shots and will be wormed at least four times before leaving my care. I will provide a written health guarantee and provide you a copy of their current health record.

All of our puppies will be cared for and socialized.  We have two boys that assist with that :)  All of my puppies will leave my care, playful, happy and clean.

I eventually plan on shipping and will determine that after my first few litters. I intend to ship via the Indianapolis International Airport. My expected cost to ship is looking to be around $300.00 which will cover the costs of the airport trip, health ship exam, health certificate and shipping crate which will become the new owners crate. I will take in consideration weather conditions for not only the safety of my  family but also the well being of the puppy.

All available puppies will be listed on my puppies page.  All puppies are AKC Registered but are sold as pets which means the pup will have a AKC pup paper but will be marked as limited.  A limited AKC means that your pup is an AKC registered and recognized dog but if you ever breed you are not elgible for registering those pups as AKC nor would they be elgible for some AKC shows.  If you are thinking about breeding or showing there will be an extra cost meaning the pup will need to be purchased with Full AKC papers. This cost is higher with almost any breeder. My cost will be determined on a puppy by puppy basis. As always it will be my discretion on whether I sell a pup on Full AKC.

There may be times when I require a pup to be on a spay/nueter contract .

Please feel free to contact me with any questions you may have reagrding my web site, contracts, pedigrees, pup questions ..just anything that may be beneficial to either you or me.  I want all of my pups placed in a loving and caring environment.

Puppies are always cute when they are young, this should be a long term commitment as with any animal it takes a lot of patience, love and attention. I want you to know it takes a lot of patience and consistent training to potty train a dachshund as they are loving lap dogs but at the same time they can be stubborn.   A dachshund can live up to 17 years. Please Please think about all of this before your purchase as there are so many animals in shelters.  If for any reason you decide that you just can't raise youir new puppy please contact me as soon as possible. I will either take the puppy back or help you in any way I can to get that puppy placed in a loving environment.
